Ultraquip Hire began its Blenheim based company in 2014 with loaders available for hire.
Owner Daniel recognised that there was a lack of good quality hire equipment in the region which began his quest to begin acquiring quality equipment and machinery that suited the hire needs and wants of the wider Marlborough community. Thanks to the continued support of many locals who began to hire machinery and equipment from Ultraquip Hire regularly, a fresh new look and building re-location took place to a much larger premise. Agility Structures is delighted to be involved in the expansion of a Marlborough success story.
The Brief
Create a design where the layout made the presentable to the frontage, but not without compromising access to the Workshop. The customer zone area was to be tidy and practical, and suitable for walk-in customers but not ‘over the top’ for our largely civil contractor customers.
The Challenges Met / Solutions
The tight project timelines were set to client expectations so to minimise the disruption to the momentum of his rapidly growing business. The tight timeframe was a challenge for the project team, but the handover was to the client’s expectations.
The building was designed to maximise ease of use for the Ultraquip team and public access while minimising the impact of the prevailing wind.
Health and safety controls are important on all sites but were another level on this build. Part of the site was utilised for hire equipment storage, and controls were required for public access. These controls were reviewed constantly and modified as the project progressed. This required constant planning and monitoring, as well as frequent review between the client and Agility Structure’s site crew.

Key Benefits
A great building with good positioning on a high-profile site. Designed for high volume traffic at peak times, safe traffic flows, and with the protection afforded by the cantilever canopy.
